Helena police investigate gunshot victim
HELENA — The Helena Police Department responded to a call at approximately 5:35 p.m. on Oct. 22 to find a male victim with a gunshot wound to the head.
According to Deputy Chief Tim Carter, the man was discovered in the backyard of a residence in the 8000 block of Shady Trail in Helena. The victim was a 67-year-old white male and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Carter said the case is still under investigation and at this time is being ruled as a suicide as the gunshot wound is believed to be self-inflicted. The name of the victim has not been released.
