Eagles finish in top five at Hoover Invitational

The Oak Mountain High School boys’ and girls’ cross country teams each finished in the top five Oct. 28 at the Hoover Invitational at Veterans Park.
The Oak Mountain boys’ team finished fourth in the boys’ 5K team standings.
Will Hamaker led the Eagles as he finished ninth overall with his time of 17:25.59.
Two Spain Park runners finished in the top 10 in boys’ individual standings. Brandon Hazouri won the race with his time of 16:39.47. Teammate Steven Crain came in seventh in individual standings with his time of 17:15.26.
The Jaguars finished fifth in the boys’ team standings.
Briarwood Christian came in eighth in the boys’ team standings. Ramsay Ritchie led the Lions as he finished 10th in individual standings with his time of 17:27.54.
The Oak Mountain girls’ team came in fifth in the girls’ 5K teams standings.
Haley Davidson led the Eagles as she finished 16th overall in individual standings with her time of 21:02.69.
Briarwood Christian finished sixth in team standings. Mary Catherine Ellard led the Lions with her time of 20:55.72, which placed her 14th overall in individual standings.
Shelby County freshman Jacqueline Head, running as an individual, finished sixth overall in the girls’ individual standings with her time of 20:25.26.
