Westminster runners qualify for state meet

Four Westminster School at Oak Mountain runners qualified for the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 1A-2A state championship meet following a section meet Nov. 6 at Sokol Park in Tuscaloosa.

Three members of the Westminster boys’ cross country team advanced to the state championship meet.

Adam Dunkerley of Westminster finished runner-up in individual standings at the Class 1A-2A section meet with his time of 17:04.75.

Craig Stanford, who finished 14th overall in individual standings with his time of 18:40.25, also qualified for the state meet. Noah Thompson, who finished 16th overall in individual standings with his time of 18:42.27, will join Dunkerley and Stanford at the Class 1A-2A state championship meet.

One member of the Westminster girls’ cross country team will race in the state championship meet.

Morgan Reynolds, who finished eighth overall in individual standings with her time of 22:20.04, advanced to the Class 1A-2A state meet.

The AHSAA Class 1A-2A state championship meet will be held Nov. 13 at Indian Mounds Park in Oakville.
