The University of Montevallo men’s soccer team was selected as the No. 1 seed in the Southeast Region of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II tournament and will host first and second round matches in the tournament at Varsity Field on campus.

The Falcons (18-2-1) are one of just 32 teams nationwide to be selected to the NCAA Division II tournament. Montevallo will host matches on Friday, Nov. 12 and Sunday, No. 14.

Montevallo will play its first match Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. against the winner of No. 4 seed Wingate University and No. 5 seed Anderson University.

The Wingate-Anderson match will take place Wednesday, Nov. 10 on the campus of No. 4 seed Wingate.

This is the Falcons’ fifth trip to the NCAA Division II tournament and first as a No. 1 seed. Montevallo is 2-3-2 all-time in NCAA tournament competition and advanced to the national semifinals in 2007.
