As the Indian Springs School Theater Program performs Brecht and Weill’s important musical “Three Penny Opera,” play organizers hope its patrons will donate three pennies — and much more — to a local nonprofit during the Thanksgiving season.

Tickets for the Nov. 4-6 musical will be 3 cents cheaper than usual — $4.97 for students and $9.97 for adults — in hopes that patrons will make a “three-penny” donation as a kickoff to the school’s annual Thanksgiving food drive, which will benefit Oak Mountain Missions Ministries food distribution program for local families in need.

Play patrons are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and make additional cash donations to the drive. The food drive, sponsored by the school’s Key Club in coordination with the ISS Arts Department, will continue throughout November.
