Shelby County wrestlers drop matches at Chilton County Duals

The Shelby County High School wrestling squad dropped three matches Dec. 4 in the Chilton County Duals.

The Wildcats fell to Brookwood, Holtville and host Chilton County in the dual meet.

Two Shelby County wrestlers won their individual matches in the Wildcats’ 48-18 loss to Brookwood.

Shelby County 145-pounder Jeffrey Hughes pinned Brookwood’s Joseph Jones. The Wildcats’ Chase Weeks pinned Joel Kladifko of Brookwood in the 152-pound match.

Avery Manning of Shelby County won by forfeit.

Two Wildcats won their individual matches in Shelby County’s 48-24 loss to Holtville.

Weeks won his 152-pound match by disqualification over Dalton Speigler of Holtville. Shelby County heavyweight Jacob Oliver pinned Holtville’s Marco Paredes.

Manning and Jonathan Perrine won by forfeit.

Five Shelby County wrestlers won by forfeit in the Wildcats’ 42-30 loss to Chilton County.

Hughes, Weeks, Perrine, Nathan Herrington and Luke Miller each were unopposed in the match.
