Community bands together through loss

Dear Editor,
The family of Joyce Fletcher would like to thank the Sheriff’s Department, the coroner, both Chelsea and Westover fire departments and our dear neighbors for the quick response on the morning of Nov. 5.
Everyone was very kind, understanding and very professional the entire time.
The news people from the Reporter were exceptionally understanding and left without bothering us. This is something that I cannot say about FOX 6 news crew. After all was said and done, we called the sheriff’s office multiple times because of the reporters that camped at the house, knocking on our door and setting up their cameras in our driveway near the house.
Granted this was a news story, but having courtesy during our time of loss and the respect to stay off the property would have been much appreciated.
I am proud to live where I do. Neighbors pulled together and respected Mother’s wishes about family privacy. The cities of Chelsea and Westover did the same. The sheriff and his department did the same. The coroner did the same.
Our hearts are heavy. Our loss is great. Our friends and neighbors are even greater for all the prayers and kindness that has been shown time and time again.
We appreciate everything and I am truly proud to live where I do.
