Oak Mountain wrestlers split matches in dual meet

The Oak Mountain High School wrestling squad dropped a close match with Clay-Chalkville in a match between the two teams Dec. 9.
The Cougars edged the Warriors 37-33 in the match. Oak Mountain also defeated Chilton County in the dual meet.
Six Oak Mountain wrestlers won their individual matches against Clay-Chalkville.
Jared Godfrey of Oak Mountain pinned Clay-Chalkville’s Zachary Kennemur in 58 seconds in the 125-pound match. The Eagles’ Matthew Wills earned an 11-10 decision over Jakwambi Porter of Clay-Chalkville in 135-pound action.
Vincent Kimbrough of Oak Mountain pinned Clay-Chalkville’s Mitchell McFarling in 4:07 in the 152-pound match. The Eagles’ Jeff Back pinned Allen Box of Clay-Chalkville in 5:32 in the 171-pound match.
The Eagles’ Justin Woodall pinned Clay-Chalkville’s Joe Wimes in 189-pound action. Lloyd Time of Oak Mountain won his 215-pound match by forfeit.
Two Oak Mountain wrestlers won their individual matches in the Eagles’ 53-18 win over Chilton County.
Godfrey pinned Paul Shearon of Chilton County in the 125-pound match. Time pinned Justyn Jackson of Chilton County in the 215-pound match.
Seven Eagles won by forfeit, including Kimbrough, Wills, Back, J.D. Peden, Jacob Parker, Manny Allen and Jacob Darty.
