High school basketball roundup: Westminster drops area contest

The Westminster School at Oak Mountain boys’ basketball team fell to Parkway Christian 63-30 in a Class 1A, Area 8 contest Dec. 13.

Jeffrey Stanford led the Knights (6-6 overall, 2-1 in Class 1A, Area 8 ) with eight points.

Thompson falls to Clay-Chalkville

The Thompson High School boys’ basketball team fell to Clay-Chalkville 67-56 on Dec. 13.

Demarcus Threatt led the Warriors (6-5) with 22 points, including four 3-pointers.

Ryan Spence added 11 points.

Chelsea tops Chilton County

The Chelsea High School boys’ basketball team defeated Chilton County 64-56 on Dec. 13.

D.D. Washington led the Hornets (7-4) with 19 points. Washington also grabbed 10 rebounds.

D.J. Washington added 12 points. Julius McCall chipped in 11 points.

GIRLS

Thompson falls to Clay-Chalkville

The Thompson High School girls’ basketball team fell to Clay-Chalkville 51-22 on Dec. 13.

Chelsea Taylor led the Warriors (6-5) with seven points.

Chelsea defeats Chilton County

The Chelsea High School girls’ basketball team recorded a 73-27 win over Chilton County on Dec. 13.

Perri Lambert led the Hornets (3-8) as she recorded a triple-double with 18 points, 12 assists and 11 steals.

Amanda Mock added a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Sydney Hobson contributed 10 points.

Evangel Christian defeats Chilton Christian

The Evangel Christian School girls’ basketball team picked up a 57-33 win over Chilton Christian on Dec. 13.

Abby Letson led the Lightning (7-0) with 21 points, including 15 in the first half. Letson also pulled down six rebounds and handed out five assists.

Katherine Stockman chipped in 16 points and five steals.
