High school basketball roundup: Chelsea holds off Montevallo

The Chelsea High School girls’ basketball team edged Montevallo 57-52 in a consolation game at the Shelby County tournament Dec. 21 at BankTrust Arena on the University of Montevallo campus.
Amanda Mock led the Hornets (4-8) with 25 points. Mock also grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds.
Perri Lambert and Sarah Holliday chipped in nine points each. Lambert also recorded eight assists and six steals in the victory.
Amber Cardwell led Montevallo (5-5) with 31 points.
Kiah Smith added nine points.
Pelham defeats Calera in tournament
The Pelham High School girls’ basketball team defeated Calera 47-12 in a consolation game at the Shelby County tournament Dec. 21.
Sydney Days led the Panthers (3-8) with 11 points.
Erin Whitman and Akievia McFarland chipped in eight points each. Kristen Cordrey finished with seven points.
Dianna Rutledge led Calera (0-7) with five points.
A’Kia Harris chipped in four points.
Spain Park defeats Pinson Valley in tournament
The Spain Park High School girls’ basketball team defeated Pinson Valley 59-33 on Dec. 21 in the Big Orange Classic.
Kathryn Boswell led the Jaguars (10-5) with 20 points.
Tori Morgan added 14 points in the victory.
BOYS
The Spain Park High School boys’ basketball team defeated Albertville 56-59 on Dec. 18 in the ADT Jaguars Classic.
Mitchell Holt led the Jaguars (8-5) with 17 points.
Rembert Martin added 13 points. Bryan Stone chipped in 11 points.
