Oak Mountain wrestlers defeat Pelham in dual meet

The Oak Mountain High School wrestling team defeated Pelham 48-12 in a dual meet Jan. 20.
Nine Eagles won their individual matches against the Panthers.
John David (J.D.) Peden of Oak Mountain earned a 9-2 decision over Alex Warren of Pelham in the 112-pound match. The Eagles’ Logan Dollins pinned Pelham’s Nick English in the 119-pound match.
Matthew Wills of Oak Mountain earned a 4-2 decision in overtime over Robby Brantley of Pelham in the 130-pound match. Angus McBee of Oak Mountain won the 140-pound match by forfeit.
Jacob Darty of Oak Mountain won the 152-pound match by forfeit. The Eagles’ Vincent Kimbrough pinned Nolan Vinson of Pelham in the 160-pound match.
Conrad McBee of Oak Mountain pinned Tre Maynard of Pelham in the 171-pound match. Justin Woodall won his 189-pound match by forfeit.
Lloyd Time of Oak Mountain pinned Pelham’s John Brito-Cuevas in the 215-pound match.
Three Pelham wrestlers won their individual matches against Oak Mountain.
The Panthers’ Logan Huey earned a 3-0 decision over Jared Godfrey of Oak Mountain in the 125-pound match. Pelham’s Cody Wehunt pinned Sam Jasinski of Oak Mountain in the 145-pound match.
Pelham heavyweight Tyler Ray earned a 2-1 decision over Chris Richmond of Oak Mountain.
The Eagles also defeated Oak Grove 52-12 in the dual meet. Nine Oak Mountain wrestlers won their individual matches against Oak Grove.
Peden won the 103-pound match by forfeit. Dollins pinned Jake Jackson of Oak Grove in the 119-pound match.
Godfrey earned a 9-2 decision over Jordan Awtry of Oak Grove in the 125-pound match. Wills won his 135-pound match by forfeit.
Angus McBee pinned Robbie McKenna of Oak Grove in the 140-pound match. Kimbrough pinned Oak Grove’s Josh Wood in the 152-pound match.
The Eagles’ Jeff Back earned an 8-2 decision over Robbie Cannon of Oak Grove in the 160-pound match. Woodall earned a 11-3 decision over Dillan Campbell of Oak Grove in the 189-pound match.
Richmond won the heavyweight match by forfeit.
Jasinski was pinned by Treddie Gray of Oak Grove in the 145-pound match. Conrad McBee was pinned by Oak Grove’s David Harmon in the 171-pound match.
