Shelby County wrestlers drop matches at dual meet

The Shelby County High School wrestling team dropped matches against G.W. Carver and Lincoln in a dual meet Jan. 27.

The Wildcats fell to G.W. Carver 39-21 in the duals. Four Shelby County wrestlers won their individual matches against G.W. Carver.

Jeffrey Hughes of Shelby County earned a decision over Radell Smith of G.W. Carver in the 152-pound match. The Wildcats’ Noah Dorough won the 103-pound match by forfeit.

Jonathan Perrine of Shelby County won the 135-pound match by forfeit. Shelby County’s Nathan Herrington won the 140-pound match by forfeit.

Shelby County fell to Lincoln 51-21 in the duals. Four Wildcats won their individual matches against Lincoln.

Chase Weeks of Shelby County earned a decision over Lincoln’s Michael Alldredge in the 145-pound match. Hughes pinned Devante Peeler of Lincoln in the 152-pound match.

Shelby County heavyweight Jacob Oliver pinned Anthony Zampelli of Lincoln. Keaton Wood won the 160-pound match by forfeit.
