The Spain Park High School boys’ basketball team defeated Mountain Brook 62-48 in the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A, Area 12 tournament semifinals Feb. 11 at Homewood High School.

The Jaguars (22-8) will face Vestavia Hills in the Class 6A, Area 12 championship game Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. at Homewood.

Steven Lawson led Spain Park with a game-high 17 points in the victory.

Rembert Martin added 16 points in the win.

The Jaguars jumped out to a 19-7 lead after the opening quarter and held a 33-23 lead heading into the locker room at halftime.

Spain Park put the game out of reach after outscoring the Spartans 13-2 in the third quarter.
