A 52-year-old Helena man was pronounced dead Feb. 14 after he was struck by a train off Cunningham Drive in Helena.

Mark Leonard Hudson, a black male who lived on Cunningham Drive, was pronounced dead after he was struck by a train while walking on the tracks near Old Town Helena, according to the Helena Police Department.

Police responded to the call at about 7:10 p.m. after someone witnessed the accident and called authorities, according to an HPD dispatcher.

As of Feb. 15, Helena police were still investigating the cause of the accident.
