Montevallo drops three women’s tennis matches

The University of Montevallo women’s tennis team dropped three matches Feb. 18-19.
The Falcons (2-4) fell to Georgia Southwestern State University 8-1 in a match Feb. 18.
Montevallo won one doubles’ match against the Hurricanes. Helene Nordgreen and Calli Robinson of Montevallo defeated Leady Cuellar and Ginny Jones of Georgia Southwestern 8-4 in the No. 1 doubles’ match.
The Falcons dropped a match against the University of Alabama in Huntsville 6-3 on Feb. 18.
Montevallo won one singles’ match and two doubles’ matches against UAH.
The Falcons’ Kayla Hackett, a Chelsea graduate, defeated Amanda Sipple of UAH 2-6, 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 3 singles’ match.
Nordgreen and Robinson defeated Sipple and Maria Lawton of UAH in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Hackett and Kodi Bobo of Montevallo defeated Lina Carvajal and Giannina Mulky 9-7 of UAH in the No. 2 doubles’ match.
Montevallo wrapped up the weekend with a 9-0 loss to Columbus State University in a match Feb. 19.
The Falcons won only six total games in singles’ matches and only two games in doubles’ play against Columbus State.
