Thompson defeats Tuscaloosa County in tennis match

The Thompson High School girls’ tennis team defeated Tuscaloosa County 9-0 in a match Feb. 22.

The Warriors (2-0) won all six singles’ matches and all three doubles’ matches against Tuscaloosa County.

Laura Harwell of Thompson defeated Talli Archibald of Tuscaloosa County 8-1 in the No. 1 singles’ match. Thompson’s Erin Hutter defeated Tuscaloosa County’s Taylor Hughes 8-1 in the No. 2 singles’ match.

Maria Siow of Thompson defeated Macy Smithson of Tuscaloosa County 8-3 in the No. 3 singles’ match. Victoria Killingsworth of Thompson defeated Sarah Potts of Tuscaloosa County 8-1 in the No. 4 singles’ match.

Maci Hendrix of Thompson defeated Alexandria Gibson of Tuscaloosa County 8-1 in the No. 5 singles’ match. Olivia Sorrell of Thompson defeated Caitlyn Pennington of Tuscaloosa County 8-4 in the No. 6 singles’ match.

Hutter and Siow defeated Hughes and Archibald 8-0 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Harwell and Killingsworth defeated Smithson and Potts 8-2 in the No. 2 doubles’ match.

Hendrix and Sorrell defeated Gibson and Pennington 8-1 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.

BOYS

The Thompson High School boys’ tennis team fell to Tuscaloosa County 5-4 in a high school tennis match Feb. 22.

The Warriors won four singles’ matches against Tuscaloosa County.

Tyler Shaw of Thompson defeated Luke Lollar of Tuscaloosa County 8-4 in the No. 1 singles’ match. Wes Robinson of Thompson fell to Dusten Bybee of Tuscaloosa County in the No. 2 singles’ match.

Cameron Faulkner of Thompson defeated Jordan Harris of Tuscaloosa County 8-4 in the No. 3 singles’ match. Tony Pendleton of Thompson defeated Hunter Ford of Tuscaloosa County 8-5 in the No. 4 singles’ match.

Clay Anthony of Thompson fell to Seth Green of Tuscaloosa County 9-8 in the No. 5 singles’ match. Jared Cowsar of Thompson defeated Will Bomar of Tuscaloosa County 8-5 in the No. 6 singles’ match.

Shaw and Anthony fell to Lollar and Bybee 9-7 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Robinson and Faulkner fell to Ford and Bomar 9-7 in the No. 2 doubles’ match.

Pendleton and Cowsar fell to Green and Harris 8-6 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.
