Shakes down Surge to claim SCYBL championship

DIVISION 6 (GIRLS)

Frostie’s Shakes calmed the Surge for a 24 to 17 victory. The Shakes were led by Meredith Johnson with 8 points and 5 assists, Emily Robinson added 6 points and 13 rebounds, Sarah Goodwin chipped in 4 points, Emily Johnson and Alexis Mallory played good defense, with Kendra Shaw adding 2 points and 7 rebounds.

DIVISION 4 (BOYS)

The Magic came back to defeat the Legends, 48 to 41. No stats were provided.

DIVISION 1 (BOYS & GIRLS)

The Rockets had just enough fuel to defeat the Hornets, 27 to 24. The Rockets were led by Joel Pennington with 15 points, Ben Marling added 7 points, Harrison Blinkard had 4 rebounds, Mike Vickery played good defensively, Tyler Wakefield and Logan Carson hustled, with Ethan Pierce adding valuable minutes. The Hornets were led by Landon with 16 points, Jon Michael added 3 points, Christopher and Matthew scored 2 points each, with Ryan hitting a free throw.

DIVISION 3 (BOYS)

The Crushers held on to defeat the Terminators, 21 to 17. The Crushers were led by Brett McKinney with 14 points, JoJo Joiner scored 5 points, Colby Blythe added 2 points, and Sarah Ruth Lipscomb played great defense. The Terminators were led by Zach Nolen with 11 points, Chadwyn Russ scored 3 points, Mitch Nash added 2 points, and Chip Nash had 9 rebounds.

DIVISION 2 (BOYS)

The Disco-Swish defeated the Blazers, 33 to 27. No stats were provided.

DIVISION 5 (GIRLS)

The Dynamites exploded for a 23 to 13 victory. They were led by Charley Clark and Sarah Goodwin with 8 points each, Anna Goodwin had 8 rebounds, Taylor Wakefield played good defense, Bethany Dawkins scored 3 points, Angel Mallory had 4 steals, and Zoey Jones showed good effort.
