Oak Mountain softball edges Tuscaloosa County in extra inning

The Oak Mountain High School softball team edged Tuscaloosa County 4-3 in an extra inning in high school softball action March 1.
Caroline Seitz scored the game-winning run for the Eagles (5-1) on a squeeze bunt by Nicole Kehr in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Oak Mountain jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and tacked on another run to push its lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning.
Tuscaloosa County responded with three runs in the top of the fifth inning before the Eagles clinched the win in the eighth inning.
Leah Reeve led the Eagles with a single, a double, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base.
Maddie Ridgeway finished with two singles. Seitz finished with two singles and a run scored.
Hannah Asprodites finished with a single and a run scored. Kailey Boone added a single.
Kehr improved to 4-0 in the circle this season after giving up three runs on eight hits with five strikeouts and a walk in an eight-inning complete game.
