Spain Park edges Oak Mountain in soccer match

The Spain Park High School girls’ soccer team edged Oak Mountain 2-1 in high school soccer action March 1.
The Eagles (7-2) took a 1-0 lead in the first half following a goal by T.J. Langlois in the fifth minute of the contest.
Courtney Newton of Spain Park knotted the game at 1-1 with her goal off an assist by Marie Blount in the 20th minute.
Haven Eddy clinched the win for the Jaguars (5-2) with her unassisted goal in the 60th minute in the second half.
Spain Park goalkeeper Schyler Arnold finished with 10 saves. Oak Mountain goalkeeper Jill Hester also recorded 10 saves.
