The Briarwood Christian School softball team defeated Sylacauga 11-1 in high school softball action March 3.

The Lions (3-0) scored five runs in the fourth inning to put the game out of reach.

Morgan Reed, Hannah Sankey, Rachel Walz and Ashlyn Boyd led Briarwood Christian with two hits each in the victory.

Sankey finished with a double and drove in three runs. Reed and Walz drove in two runs and scored two runs each. Boyd drove in one run in the win.

Reed picked up the win in the circle after giving up one earned run on five hits with 12 strikeouts and two walks in a complete game.
