The Coosa Valley Academy baseball team defeated Autauga Academy 2-0 in its opening game March 3 at the Prattville Christian Academy tournament.

Saxon Grimes led the Rebels (8-2) at the plate as he finished with a hit and an RBI.

Myles Varner also recorded a hit and scored a run in the victory.

Jarrod Mims (1-1) earned the win on the mound after pitching a one-hit shut out with four strikeouts.
