Thompson downs Homewood in tennis match

The Thompson High School girls’ tennis team defeated Homewod 6-3 in a high school tennis match March 3.
The Warriors won five of the six singles’ matches against Homewood.
Laura Harwell of Thompson defeated Megan Spade of Homewood 10-3 in the No. 1 singles’ match. The Warriors’ Erin Hutter defeated Alicia Cox of Homewood 10-4 in the No. 2 singles’ match.
Maria Siow of Thompson fell to Molly Williams of Homewood 10-8 in the No. 3 singles’ match. Victoria Killingsworth of Thompson defeated Maggie Williams 10-3 in the No. 4 singles’ match.
Maci Hendrix of Thompson defeated Mollie Lindsey of Homewood 10-3 in the No. 5 singles’ match. Olivia Sorrell of Thompson defeated Beverly Vappie of Homewood 10-8 in the No. 6 singles’ match.
Hutter and Siow fell to Spade and Cox 11-9 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Harwell and Killingsworth fell to Molly Williams and Maggie Williams 10-8 in the No. 2 doubles’ match.
Hendrix and Sorrell defeated Lindsey and Vappie 10-6 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.
Anna Conn of Thompson defeated Sierra Booker 10-5 in an exhibition singles’ match. Jordan Hall of Thompson fell to Sarah Fields of Homewood 6-4 in an exhibition singles’ match.
The Warriors’ Courtney Foster defeated Kathryn Shields of Homewood 6-3 in an exhibition match. Emily Bolling and Madison Layton fell to Fields and Shields 10-4 in an exhibition doubles’ match.
