Chelsea pounds Tallassee in soccer match

The Chelsea High School boys’ soccer team opened region play March 4 with a 6-0 pounding of Tallassee in a high school soccer match.

It took the Hornets only 47 seconds to notch their first goal in the game. Travis Mitchell crossed the ball from the right corner to the top of the 6-yard box and Eric King connected on a header that slipped past the Tallassee keeper.

About 10 minutes later, Robby Haskins sent a free kick lofting toward the top of the 18-yard box, where Mitchell gathered the ball, turned, and drilled a rocketing shot into the upper 90 to give Chelsea a 2-0 lead.

Chelsea’s onslaught never let up. Ashley Page and Will Bevill finished the night with two goals apiece.

Mitchell collected two assists and Dakota Dresbach added one assist.

Chelsea goalkeeper Trent Tinsley had three saves in the shutout victory.
