The Kingwood Christian School softball team defeated Edgewood Academy in a doubleheader March 3.

The Lions (8-0) defeated Edgewood 10-1 in the opener.

Whitney Gillespie led Kingwood Christian at the plate as she finished 2-for-4 with a home run.

Karley Chamblee finished with three hits. Madeline Lee, Erin Jones and Kaylyn Ingram added two hits each.

Gillespie picked up the win in the circle after striking out seven batters in five innings. Lee struck out two batters without giving up a run in two innings in relief.

Kingwood Christian defeated Edgewood 4-3 in the nightcap.

Jordan Gray drove in the game-winning run with her double in the top of the fifth inning.

Chamblee, Lee and Jones finished with two hits each.

Ingram picked up the win in the circle after striking out seven batters in five innings.
