Westminster defeats Marbury in soccer match

The Westminster School at Oak Mountain boys’ soccer team defeated Marbury 4-0 in high school soccer action March 3.

The Knights improved to 4-0 in their first season of varsity soccer with the victory.

Drew Parker scored Westminster’s first goal in the 12th minute of the contest. Whitten Green and David York each played a role in setting up the goal.

Garrett Smith scored the Knights’ second goal, unassisted, four minutes later.

Jeffrey Stanford added Westminster’s third goal, unassisted, at the 34-minute mark in the opening half.

Stanford capped the scoring for the Knights with his goal just before the end of the first half off an assist by Cole Moffett.

Neither team scored in the second half.

Westminster goalkeepers Adam Gurley and John Williams combined to post the shut out.
