The Pelham High School baseball team defeated Hoover 2-1 in the Birmingham Metro tournament March 5.

Tanner Jackson lifted the Panthers (9-o) to victory with his lead-off solo homer in the top of the sixth inning.

Jackson finished 1-for-2 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored.

Hunter Soleymani picked up the win on the mound after giving up one earned run on four hits with nine strikeouts and two walks in a complete game.
