Briarwood Christian defeats Walker in tennis match

The Briarwood Christian School girls’ tennis team defeated Walker 7-2 in a high school tennis match March 7.
The Lions won four singles’ matches and all three doubles’ matches against Walker.
Katherine Combs of Briarwood Christian defeated Amanda Bertoldi of Walker 8-1 in the No. 1 singles’ match. The Lions’ Susan Jordan fell to Kelsey Woodman of Walker 9-7 in the No. 2 singles’ match.
Briarwood Christian’s Holly Brazeal defeated Walker’s Sarah Warren 8-5 in the No. 3 singles’ match. Olivia Odom of Briarwod Christian defeated Morgan Brasfield of Walker 8-6 in the No. 4 singles’ match.
The Lions’ Lauren Bowers fell to Molly Wright of Walker 8-2 in the No. 5 singles’ match. Briarwood Christian’s Melanie Siddle defeated Mallory Maloy of Walker 8-4 in the No. 6 singles’ match.
Combs and Jordan defeated Woodman and Bertoldi 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Brazeal and Odom defeated Brasfield and Wright 3-6, 6-2, 12-10 in the No. 2 doubles’ match.
Bowers and Laura Nowell of Briarwood Christian defeated Maloy and Elliott of Walker 6-4, 2-6, 10-8 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.
BOYS
The Briarwood Christian School boys’ tennis team fell to Walker 5-4 in a high school tennis match March 7.

Matt Nichols of Briarwood Christian fell to Michael Sziegoleit of Walker 8-1 in the No. 1 singles’ match. The Lions’ Griffin Russell defeated Joseph Harris of Walker 8-5 in the No. 2 singles’ match.
Taylor Brewton of Briarwood Christian defeated Colby Hopper of Walker 8-2 in the No. 3 singles’ match. Russell Hancock of Briarwood Christian defeated Sawyer Mullen of Walker 9-8 in the No. 4 singles’ match.
Philip Taylor of Briarwood Christian defeated Wes Killingsworth of Walker 8-4 in the No. 5 singles’ match. Devin Bowman of Briarwood Christian fell to Jonathon Gates of Walker 8-4 in the No. 6 singles’ match.
Nicholas and Brewton fell to Sziegoleit and Hopper 6-1, 6-4 in the No. 1 singles’ match. Russell and Bowman fell to Gates and Killingsworth 7-5, 6-3 in the No. 2 singles’ match.
Hancock and Taylor fell to Harris and Mullen 4-6, 7-6, 10-6 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.
