Funeral services for Jewell Rich Burgess, 90, will be Thursday, March 10, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with Rev. Robin Norsworthy officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Burgess died Friday, March 4, 2011, at Shelby Ridge Nursing Home.

She is survived by a daughter, Tina Diane Burgess Walters; a granddaughter, Christina Jewell Walters; a brother, J.T. Rich; and several nieces and nephews.

On March 23, 1940, she married William Zelton (“Mr. Z”) Burgess, who preceded her in death in 1989. She was known as “Nana” to her granddaughter and loved her pet Pugsi.
