Coosa Valley sweeps doubleheader in Florida

The Coosa Valley Academy baseball team defeated Marianna High School (Fla.) and Liberty County High School of Bristol, Fla., in a doubleheader March 14.

Coosa Valley defeated Marianna 10-8 in the doubleheader.

Hunter Roe led the Rebels (17-2) at the plate as he finished with four hits and an RBI.

Stephen Cryer added a hit and drove in a run. Preston Parker finished with one hit and drove in two runs.

Jarrod Mims picked up the win on the mound after giving up two runs, including only one earned run, in six innings. Roe earned the save in the victory.

The Rebels defeated Liberty County High School of Bristol, Fla., 7-6 in their first game of the day March 14.

Roe led Coosa Valley at the plate as he finished with four hits, including a double, and drove in two runs.

Mims added two hits. Hunter Winslett and Parker finished with one hit each. Winslett and Saxon Grimes drove in one run each.

Daniel Kennedy picked up the win on the mound after giving up only four hits in three innings in relief. Nick Bates started on the mound and gave up two runs in 3 2/3 innings.
