Montevallo women drop conference match

The University of Montevallo women’s tennis team dropped a match March 16 with Peach Belt Conference foe UNC-Pembroke.

The Falcons (2-12 overall, 0-7 in Peach Belt Conference) fell to UNC-Pembroke 9-0 in a match March 16.

Junior Helene Nordgreen led the Falcons with five game victories before falling 6-2, 6-3 in the No. 1 singles’ match against UNC-Pembroke.

Sophomore Amy McGucken also won five games in the No. 5 singles’ match before falling 6-4, 6-1 at UNC-Pembroke.

Senior Calli Robinson won three games as she fell in the No. 3 singles’ match 6-1, 6-2 to UNC-Pembroke.

Freshman Kayla Hackett, a Chelsea graduate, and Kodi Bobo came the closest to giving the Falcons a point as they fell in the No. 2 doubles’ match 9-8 following a 7-4 tiebreaker setback.
