Montevallo sweeps doubleheader in Chilton County tournament

The Montevallo High School baseball team swept Isabella and Verbena in the Chilton County baseball tournament March 18.
The Bulldogs defeated Isabella 15-7 in its first game.
David Shirah led Montevallo at the plate as he finished 4-for-5 and scored four runs.
Chase Hamrick finished 3-for-5 with a home run and a triple. Hamrick drove in three runs and scored three runs.
Patrick Baugh went 3-for-5 with a double and scored three runs. Trevor Chattam went 4-for-5 with two doubles and drove in four runs.
Hamrick earned the win on the mound after giving up three earned runs on four hits with a strikeout in four innings.
Montevallo defeated Verbena 12-2 in an afternoon game.
Hamrick led the Bulldogs at the plate as he finished 3-for-4 with a two home runs and a double. Hamrick drove in five runs and scored two runs.
Zach Smith went 2-for-4 with a home run and a double. Smith drove in two runs. Chattam finished 2-for-3 and drove in a run.
Baugh earned the win on the mound after giving up two earned runs on four hits with nine strikeouts in five innings.
