Jimmy Ray Fletcher, age 56, of Montevallo passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Elizabeth Fletcher and brother, Terry. He is survived by his wife, Ginger; children, Hannah Wilson and Jordan Fletcher (Maria); grandchildren, Daniel Fletcher, Olivia Wilson, Emma Wilson and Riley Fletcher; siblings, Thomas Fletcher (Elizabeth), Sue Pickett (Larry), Linda Fletcher (Henry Edwards), Frankie Fletcher (Naveline) and Mary Ann Christopher, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, as well as a motorcycle enthusiast. His greatest joys came from spending time with and loving his family, spoiling his grandkids and riding his Harley with friends. On weekends, he could often be found participating in charity motorcycle rides, and was always willing to give to those in need. He was always there with words of encouragement, praise, a joke or a smile for everyone he met, and it could be said that he never met a stranger. He was a valued employee of Cahaba Timber in Bibb County and a previous employee of Seaman Timber Company in Montevallo. Jimmy was also a member of the Pea Ridge Volunteer Fire Department.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 23, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home in Montevallo. A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 24 at 11 a.m. at Macedonia Cemetery in Pea Ridge with Jonathan Parker officiating. Rockco Funeral Home, Montevallo is directing.
