Spain Park sweeps Hartselle in doubleheader

The Spain Park High School baseball team swept Hartselle in a high school baseball doubleheader March 22.
The Jaguars (19-7) defeated Hartsell 16-4 in the opener.
Marks Abernathy and Carter White led Spain Park at the plate as each homered twice in the victory. Abernathy drove in four runs.
Alex Close also homered in the opening game and drove in three runs.
Close blasted a grand-slam home run to lead the Jaguars to a 7-0 win over Hartselle in the nightcap.
Chris Ellis also homered in the victory.
Abernathy picked up the win on the mound after giving up six hits with three strikeouts in a complete game.
