The Kingwood Christian School softball team swept a doubleheader with Edgewood Academy in high school softball action March 22.

The Lions (22-1) defeated Edgewood Academy 13-3 in the opener.

Karley Chamblee, Madeline Lee and Whitney Gillespie led Kingwood Christian at the plate with three hits each.

Gillespie earned the win in the circle after giving up three runs with nine strikeouts in a five-inning complete game.

Kingwood Christian defeated Edgewood Academy 10-2 in the nightcap.

Erin Jones led the Lions at the plate as she finished 2-for-2 with a home run.

Gillespie finished 3-for-3. Kaylyn Ingram went 1-for-2 with a home run.

Lee picked up the win in the circle after giving up two runs with one strikeout in three innings. Ingram struck out two batters in relief.
