The Montevallo High School softball team fell to Maplesville 5-4 in high school softball action March 22.

The Bulldogs took a 3-0 lead on four hits in the first inning, but could manage only five hits through the final six frames as Maplesville claimed the comeback victory.

Savannah Smith was the only Montevallo player with multiple hits. Smith finished 2-for-3 at the plate. Kaley Kornegay took her first loss of the season on the mound, going the complete game while scattering eight hits.
