Spain Park finishes seventh in Mobile tournament

The Spain Park High School boys’ golf team finished seventh in the Azalea City Invitational on March 21-22 in Mobile.

The Jaguars carded a team score of 574, which placed Spain Park 12 behind tournament winner Fairhope.

The Azalea City Invitational format included players from each team paired together in 18 holes of best-ball play on the first day March 21. In the afternoon, the pairs competed in 18 holes of scramble format. On the final day March 22, the event concluded with 18 holes of stroke play.

Robby Prater and Vasili Kartos led Spain Park in stroke play with their rounds of 74.

Michael Johnson carded a 77. Daniel Schroder and Zach Verner each finished with a round of 78. Patrick Bailey finished with a score of 84.

Pelham finished in 12th place in team standings at the Azalea City Invitational with a score of 612.

Connor Slane led the Panthers in stroke play with his round of 77.

Christian Holler and Braxton Holley each fired a score of 82. Justin Nolen carded an 83. John Menke finished with an 89. Mackenzie Holler carded a 105.
