The Thompson High School girls’ tennis team defeated rival Pelham 7-2 in high school tennis action March 23.

The Warriors (7-0) won five of the six singles’ matches and two of the three doubles’ matches against Pelham.

Laura Harwell of Thompson defeated Sidney Garner of Pelham 10-5 in the No. 1 singles’ match. Anna Conn of Thompson defeated Lauren Rowland of Pelham 10-3 in the No. 3 singles’ match.

Victoria Killingsworth of Thompson defeated Kathryn White of Pelham 10-4 in the No. 4 singles’ match. Maci Hendrix of Thompson defeated Leanna Cocke of Pelham 10-1 in the No. 5 singles’ match.

Olivia Sorrell of Thompson defeated Elizabeth Hartzog of Pelham 10-1 in the No. 6 singles’ match.

Harwell and Killingsworth defeated White and Cocke 10-2 in the No. 2 doubles’ match. Hendrix and Sorrell defeated Rowland and Hartzog 10-3 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.

The Panthers won one singles’ match and one doubles’ match against Thompson.

Katie Kema of Pelham defeated Erin Hitter of Thompson 10-6 in the No. 2 singles’ match. Garner and Kema defeated Hutter and Maria Siow 10-6 in the No. 1 doubles’ match.
