Evangel Christian drops doubleheader against Evangel Family

The Evangel Christian School baseball team dropped a doubleheader with Evangel Family Christian Academy in a doubleheader March 24.
The Lightning (9-4) fell to Evangel Family 11-8 in the opener.
Nate Scott led Evangel Christian at the plate as he finished 2-for-4 and drove in three runs.
Hayden Brown finished 1-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored. Brandon Mackey went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Daniel Ellis finished 1-for-4 and drove in a run. Ben Albright finished 1-for-4.
Thomas Milstead scored two runs. Roecker Melick, Andrew Thompson and Colin Myers scored one run each.
Milstead took the loss on the mound after giving up seven earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts and five walks in 2 2/3 innings.
Mackey allowed two earned runs on four hits with a strikeout in 3 1/3 innings in relief.
Evangel Christian fell to Evangel Family 18-10 in the nightcap.
Brown led the Lightning at the plate as he finished 4-for-4. Brown drove in four runs and scored two runs.
Mackey went 3-for-5. Milstead, who drove in one run and scored two runs, finished 1-for-3 with a double. Clay O’Neal finished 1-for-2 and drove in two runs. Ellis went 1-for-2. Albright finished 1-for-3 and scored three runs.
Grayson Melick and Nate Scott scored one run each.
Scott started on the mound and gave up three earned runs on five hits with two strikeouts and two walks in two innings.
Melick gave up five earned runs on six hits with two strikeouts and four walks in 2 2/3 innings in relief.
Andrew Thompson finished the game and gave up three earned runs on three hits with a strikeout and two walks in 1 1/3 innings.
