Curtis L. Harwell, 82, of Harpersville, passed away March 29, 2011, at his residence. Visitation was March 31 from 5-8 p.m. at Harpersville Baptist Church. Funeral services were April 1 at 1 p.m. at the church with Rev. Doug Mims, Rev. David Williams and Randy Spates officiating. Burial followed in Arkwright Cemetary. Pallbearers were Robert Harwell, Rodney Greene, David Brazier, Glendon Harwell, Matt Wright, Daniel Gill, Chris Norris and Bobby Greene.

Mr. Harwell is survived by his wife of 63 years, Selvie M. Harwell of Harpersville; son, Robert L. Harwell (Gwen) of Sylacauga; daughter, Rebecca Greene (Terry) of Vincent; brother, William Harwell (Julie) of Trussville; sister, Louise Snyder of Childersburg; sister-in-law, Agnes Harwell; special friend, Sugar Abbott; grandchildren, Rodney (Shirl), David (Sondra), Glendon (Erica), Kasey, Lisa (Matt) and Paige (Daniel); and great-grandchildren, Kayla, Bobby, Seth, Landon, Ethan, Bailee, Gabby and Mali.

Mr. Harwell was preceded in death by his brother, George Harwell Jr. and brother-in-law, Clyde Snyder.

Mr. Harwell was a beloved PawPaw and dad. He loved life, camping, fishing, gardening and riding his golf cart.
