Chelsea downs Tuscaloosa County in soccer match

The Chelsea High School girls’ soccer team defeated Tuscaloosa County 5-2 in high school soccer action April 1.

The Hornets overcame a 2-1 halftime deficit with four goals in the second half to clinch the victory.

Iyani Hughes led Chelsea with three goals, including two goals in the second half.

Mara Roberts also scored two goals in the second half.

Chelsea goalkeeper Ashleigh Niven recorded nine saves in the win.

BOYS

The Chelsea High School boys’ soccer team defeated Tuscaloosa County 6-1 in high school soccer action April 1.

The Hornets completely overpowered the homestanding Wildcats with six first-half goals, which gave Chelsea a 6-0 lead at the half.

Ashley Page led the Hornets with two goals and had one assist in the victory.

Will Bevill scored one goal and finished with two assists. Travis Mitchell had one goal and one assist. Eric King and Austin Rikard each added a goal each.
