Thompson swept by Hoover in area play

The Thompson High School baseball team dropped its second consecutive game to Hoover in Class 6A, Area 10 play April 7 following a 7-4 loss to the Buccaneers.
Hoover scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to clinch the victory.
Matt Haskins led the Warriors (22-11 overall, 2-2 in Class 6A, Area 10) at the plate as he finished 2-for-4 with a home run. Haskins, who led off the game with a solo home run to left field, drove in one run and scored two runs in the defeat.
Taylor Bria went 3-for-4 at the plate and scored one run. Gus Williford finished 3-for-3 with a double and drove in a run. Alex Henderson, who drove in one run and scored one run, finished 1-for-3 at the plate.
Jonathan Keller (4-3) took the loss on the mound after giving up seven runs, including five earned runs, on 10 hits with 11 strikeouts and one walk in a complete game.
