The Thompson High School softball team fell to Hoover 1-0 in extra innings April 7 in high school softball action.

The Buccaneers broke a scoreless tie and scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the 12th inning.

Savannah Gossett and Ashleigh Short led the Warriors at the plate with two hits each.

Gossett finished 2-for-4 at the plate. Short went 2-for-5 at the plate.

Rachel Rigney took the loss in the circle despite giving up just one earned run on eight hits with 15 strikeouts and one walk in 11 1/3 innings.
