Briarwood Christian softball falls to Mountain Brook in extra innings

The Briarwood Christian School softball team fell to Mountain Brook 10-8 in extra innings in high school softball action April 11.
Caroline Seay led Briarwood Christian at the plate as she finished 3-for-4 with a double and a grand-slam homer, which tied the game at 8-8 in the sixth innings. Seay drove in four runs and scored one run.
Ashlyn Boyd, who drove in two runs and scored one run, finished 2-for-3 at the plate. Sara Kate Bracewell went 2-for-5 and drove in a run.
Linley Splawn took the loss after giving up five earned runs on six hits with three strikeouts and five walks in 5 2/3 innings on the mound.
Bracewell gave up five earned runs won five hits with two walks in 2 1/3 innings.
