The Calera High School boys’ soccer team defeated Elmore County 3-0 in a high school soccer match April 12.

Christian Alvarenga led the Eagles with a goal and two assists.

Irvin Alvarenga added one goal and one assist. Mauricio Fernandez also scored a goal in the victory.

Calera goalkeeper Jecsan Sanchez finished with seven saves in the shutout.

GIRLS

The Calera High School girls’ soccer team edged Elmore County 3-2 in overtime in a high school soccer match April 12.

Alexia Figueroa scored all three goals for the Eagles, including the game-winning goal in overtime.
