Shelby County is under a tornado warning until 5:30 p.m. April 15.

The National Weather Service is tracking a confirmed tornado five miles south of West Blocton, outside of Montevallo.

The warning includes all of Shelby County.

The National Weather Service recommends all residents take cover in an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.

The National Weather Service has also issued a flash flood warning for Shelby County until 8 p.m. April 15. Between 2 to 3 inches of rain is possible in a short amount of time, and runoff may result in flash flooding.
