The Calera High School boys’ soccer team defeated American Christian Academy 4-3 in overtime in a high school soccer match April 19.

The Eagles overcame a 3-1 deficit in the second half to clinch the victory.

Erick Tinajero netted the game-winning goal in overtime. Vi Tran, Irvin Alvarenga and Julio Jiron scored one goal each for Calera in regulation.

Calera goalkeeper Jecsan Sanchez recorded eight saves in the victory.

GIRLS

The Calera High School girls’ soccer team fell to American Christian Academy 4-2 in high school soccer action April 19.

Alexia Figueroa scored both goals for the Eagles.
