Pelham downs Oak Mountain in area softball contest

The Pelham High School softball team defeated Oak Mountain 4-0 in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A, Area 10 contest April 26.

The Panthers clinched the victory with three runs in the top of the sixth inning.

Kristian Foster led Pelham at the plate as she finished 3-for-4 with a double. Foster drove in one run and scored one run in the victory.

Jennifer Davis finished 2-for-3 at the plate and drove in one run. Emily Spain finished 2-for-3 at the plate.

Mary Morgan Dramer went 1-for-3 at the plate and scored one run. Erin Whitman went 1-for-3 at the plate and drove in one run. Kayla Watson finished 1-for-1 at the plate and scored one run.

Davis earned the win in the circle after giving up just one hit with one strikeout in a complete game.

Caroline Seitz led Oak Mountain as she finished 1-for-3 at the plate. Seitz’s double accounted for the Eagles’ lone hit in the defeat.

Leah Reeve took the loss after giving up one earned run on eight hits with four strikeouts and a walk in four innings.

Nicole Kehr allowed two earned runs on five hits with a strikeout and a walk in three innings in relief.
