The Chelsea High School girls’ soccer team defeated Pinson Valley 10-0 in a first round match in the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 5A playoffs May 3.

Kamilla Kjoestvedt led the Hornets with a school-record five goals in a single game in the postseason.

Kjoestvedt opened the scoring in the match with her goal off an assist by Stephanie LeBeau five minutes into the contest. LeBeau played a through ball and Kjoestvedt finished the her shot to the back post.

Mara Roberts contributed one goal and a team-high four assists in the victory. LeBeau finished with two goals and one assist. Iyani Hughes and Lauren Swee chipped in one goal each.

Chelsea goalkeepers Ashleigh Niven and Chelsa Tyson combined to post the shut out. Niven recorded one save in the win.
