William S. “Bill” Stetson III

William S. “Bill” Stetson III, 32, of Helena passed away in Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster on March 11, 2011, with his parents at his side. Born June 26, 1978 in Jacksonville, Fla., Bill was the first-born of two children. Bill graduated with honors from Kempsville High School Class of 1996 in Virginia Beach, Va., and earned a bachelor’s degree in public administration from James Madison University in 2001. Bill was a member of Canterbury Episcopal Campus Ministry and Alpha Phi Omega, a service fraternity, while attending JMU. Bill joined his parents in Alabama in 2001, and worked for Sears until his death from pneumonia, following surgery.

He is survived by his parents, William S. Stetson Jr., and Stephanie P. Stetson of Midlothian, Texas, and his sister, Jennifer Stetson. A memorial service will be held in Cedar Hill, Texas on June 25, 2011. For details, contact the family through Charter Funeral Home, Calera, at 621-0800.
