Montevallo men’s golfers named to all-academic team

The University of Montevallo men’s golf team was awarded three spots on the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic team and was given one honorable mention selection.
Junior Aaron Ebert, junior Gonzalo Gambertoglio and senior Ruwaldt Viljoen were named to the All-Academic team, while sophomore Mariano Lepori was named honorable mention.
Ebert holds a 3.70 grade point average in accounting at Montevallo. Ebert is a two-time member of the PBC All-Academic team after being named second team in 2010. Gambertoglio holds a 3.96 GPA in management at Montevallo and is also a two-time member of the All-Academic team after a second team slot last season. Viljoen holds a 3.66 GPA in management and this is his first PBC All-Academic selection. Lepori has a 3.79 GPA in management.
The team is part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of Peach Belt Conference student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must participate in at least half of his/her team’s events and be either a starter or significant contributor, have achieved a 3.20 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale and have completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution.
The Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Directors oversee and select the teams.
